Capturing the Cover: St. Louis Bride Magazine July Issue
St. Louis Wedding Photographer Meets The Franklin of Soulard Wedding Editorial
As a St. Louis wedding photographer, few moments compare to seeing our work featured on the cover of St. Louis Bride Magazine—and this July issue was extra special. Not only did one of our photographs grace the cover, but the magazine also showcased a stunning multi-page spread from this editorial we photographed at The Franklin of Soulard.
The vision for this shoot came from the incredible Laurel Fox of One Foxy Affair, who handled creative direction, design, planning, and production. Her concept, Spain meets St. Louis, imagined a couple where one partner’s roots are in the Midwest and the other’s are in Spain—blending cultures, flavors, and styles into an unforgettable celebration.
Spain Meets St. Louis: An Inspired Wedding Design
When photographing weddings and styled shoots as a St. Louis wedding photographer, we’re always looking for ways to tell a couple’s story through details. This shoot was brimming with them.
The space featured a custom-built coffee café, Café Carlos, complete with floral tile, a green-and-white striped awning, and charming café tables shaded by orange fringed umbrellas. Across the room, a custom seating chart displayed illuminated soccer jerseys—an imaginative nod to family heritage and team spirit.
The feature table was designed for family-style dining, set with Spanish-inspired dishes like paella served directly on the table amid lush florals, so that the food felt like part of the centerpiece. Overhead, a painted canopy merged iconic St. Louis locations with Spanish architecture, creating a visual bridge between the two worlds. Even the stage area was draped in creative fabric designs to frame the celebration.
Fashion, Flavor, and Celebration
Our models, Breanna and Philip, brought the vision to life in nine different fashion looks, from sleek and modern to timeless and romantic. As with every editorial we photograph, we focused on capturing both the grand beauty of the setting and the intimate moments between the couple.
Later in the evening, the venue transformed into the Franklin Supper Club, where guests enjoyed live salsa performances from Carmen & Mauricio of Del Ritmo Dance Company. The Spanish-inspired menu, prepared by Chef Culley Freese, was followed by desserts from Havana’s Cuisine and coffee from Café Carlos.
Why This Shoot Matters to Us
As wedding photographers in St. Louis, we love being part of events that push creative boundaries while honoring the traditions and personalities of the couple. This editorial wasn’t just about beautiful details—it was about telling a love story that spans continents, cultures, and communities.
Seeing our images in St. Louis Bride Magazine is an incredible honor, and we’re grateful to every creative partner who brought this vision to life.
